Best Business Directories in the UAE, Compared: Which Ones Rank on Top and Why
- October 4, 2026
- Local SEO

Here is something nobody mentions when you list your business on a UAE directory: most of those listings never get seen. There are hundreds of directory sites in the country, and a small handful of them collect nearly all the search traffic. The rest are quiet.
So we looked at which UAE directories are actually winning, how they got there, and what a small business can learn from it. Whether you run a restaurant in Deira, a clinic in Sharjah or a trading company in Business Bay, the pattern is useful.
How we compared them
We used traffic and ranking estimates from Similarweb (July and August 2026) and, where a current figure wasn't available, older Semrush data from 2025. We also looked at how each site is built and what it promises to the businesses listed on it.
One honest caveat: these are third-party estimates, not exact numbers, and they don't all come from the same month. Treat them as a guide to the pecking order, not an official scoreboard.
The five directories at a glance
| Directory | Estimated monthly visits | What stands out | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yellow Pages UAE | ~182,500 (Jul 2026) | Ranked #1 UAE directory by Similarweb; about 74% of traffic from organic search | Suppliers, trades, B2B |
| Yello.ae | ~88,800 (Aug 2026) | Ranked #2; visitors view more pages and leave less often | Verified general business search |
| YellowPages.ae | No verified 2026 figure | Competes for the same searches as the two above | Broad B2B and B2C listings |
| HiDubai | ~184,000 to 280,000 (spring 2025) | Very long visits, around 6 to 8 minutes on average | Consumer-facing Dubai businesses |
| 2GIS UAE | Not comparable (map and app driven) | Listings verified by call centre and field teams | Businesses people need to physically find |
1. Yellow Pages UAE: the traffic leader
Yellow Pages UAE held the top spot among UAE directories in Similarweb's July 2026 ranking, with an estimated 182,500 visits that month. Roughly three quarters of that traffic came from organic search, and it ranks for around 4,900 keywords. About 69% of its visitors are in the UAE.
Why it ranks: Its biggest keywords are simply "yellow pages uae" and "yellow pages". People type the name. Below that sits a long tail of "near me" searches, like "typing center near me", plus searches for individual company names. Every business gets its own page, so every listing is another chance to catch a search.
The strategy behind it: The site positions itself as a B2B portal for suppliers, manufacturers and distributors, with category and emirate filters. It says it verifies suppliers and lists more than 100,000 businesses (those are its own claims, so take them as such). Listing is free, which keeps the supply of businesses growing.
Watch out: Visitors skim. The estimated bounce rate is about 53% with roughly two pages per visit, so your name, services and website need to be obvious at a glance.
2. Yello.ae: the most engaged audience
Yello.ae came second in August 2026 with around 88,800 visits. Its numbers are smaller, but people use it differently: about 3.2 pages per visit and a bounce rate near 40%, which is noticeably better than Yellow Pages UAE. The site describes itself as a portal of verified businesses with human-managed information.
Why it ranks: Like Yellow Pages UAE, it picks up traffic from searches for specific companies and services, including contact-number searches for well-known names and government departments. Pages for known entities bring in a steady stream of visitors who then browse around.
The strategy behind it: Verified, tidy data builds trust, and trust shows up as people staying longer.
Watch out: Only about 36% of its visitors are in the UAE, with around 29% from India and 7% from Pakistan. A Yello.ae listing is valuable for credibility and links, but don't expect it to send you a flood of local customers.
3. YellowPages.ae: the established name
YellowPages.ae is widely described as a broad B2B and B2C directory. We couldn't confirm a current 2026 traffic number for it, so we haven't put a figure on it. What we can say is that Similarweb lists it as the closest match to both sites above, which means it competes for the same searches and the same audience.
Why it holds its place: A country domain (.ae) and a name that matches what people already search for. That combination gives it authority and brand recall without needing a big content operation.
Best for: A solid, free listing that backs up the information on your own site.
4. HiDubai: directory plus city guide
HiDubai works differently. In 2025 Semrush data it showed between 184,000 and 280,000 monthly visits, about 60% from Google, and average sessions of six to eight minutes, far longer than the others. Its audience is mostly UAE-based. The site says it lists more than 150,000 businesses and is free to claim.
Why it ranks: It mixes business listings with guides, events and attractions, so people stay, browse and come back. Long visits are a good sign for any site.
The strategy behind it: Focus on one city and go deep. Content gives the directory a reason to exist beyond a phone-book listing.
Watch out: It is Dubai-focused, and the figures above are from 2025. If your customers are in Sharjah or Ajman, it will help less.
5. 2GIS UAE: the map-first challenger
2GIS is a maps and business directory that covers Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and other cities. Its traffic is driven by the app and the map, so a website visit count doesn't tell the whole story. HiDubai's audience also visits it, which shows how the two overlap.
Why it ranks: Accuracy. 2GIS says its listings are verified by its own call centre and field teams and updated monthly, and the maps include building-level detail. Adding a company is free, and the team calls to verify the details, which usually takes a few working days.
The strategy behind it: Own the data. When the map is the product, people trust it.
Best for: Shops, clinics, restaurants and offices that customers need to physically find.
What the winners have in common
- One page per business, sorted by category and emirate. That creates thousands of pages that match "service + area" searches.
- People search company names. Directories rank for "[company name] contact number", so a complete, accurate listing can show up when someone searches for you directly.
- Verified data beats big data. Yello.ae and 2GIS put effort into checking details, and visitors stay longer.
- Free listings build supply. Most of these sites let you join for free and earn from promotion.
- Specialising works. B2B suppliers, Dubai lifestyle, or maps: each one picked a lane.
What to do with this
- Set up your Google Business Profile first. It matters more than any directory.
- Claim Yello.ae, Yellow Pages UAE and YellowPages.ae. They give the best reach for the effort.
- Add HiDubai if you are a consumer-facing business in Dubai, and 2GIS if people need to find your location.
- Use exactly the same business name, address and phone number everywhere. Small differences hurt.
- Write a unique description for each listing instead of pasting the same paragraph, and pick the right category and emirate.
- Link to a relevant page on your site, not just the homepage, and add a tracking tag so you can see which directories send visitors.
- Skip bulk "300 listings" services. A handful of good directories beats a pile of junk ones.
Do directory listings actually help your Google ranking?
Honestly, only a little, and not on their own. Directory links usually carry modest weight. Their real value is consistency across the web, referral visitors, and being found when someone searches your business name. They also can't fix a weak website: a listing that sends a customer to a slow, outdated site simply loses that customer.
